At Structural PANDA we aim to reduce the embodied carbon of early stage design schemes. We strive to support our customers to:
- thoroughly evaluate the impact of embodied carbon earlier in the design, where they can make the biggest savings
- increase their productivity and competitive advantage for exceptional low carbon design capability
PANDA software was first developed in a partnership between researchers at the University of Cambridge and engineering consultancy Price & Myers. Together we have created a revolutionary product which is already transforming our structural design practices and providing a unique assessment tool for our world leading research into reducing embodied emissions.
Our research has shown that PANDA can reduce the embodied CO2 of a building by up to 50%. Globally this could save around 2 Gt of CO2 every year, equivalent to the EU’s annual emissions.
This opportunity to make a real difference in global emissions is too big for us to pass by. Rather than keeping the tool to ourselves, we want PANDA to become the ‘go to’ software for structural design teams all over the world.
So, in February 2022 Structural PANDA ltd was created.
Whilst Structural PANDA Ltd is a young company, PANDA has been used in practice for the last 3 years. Ben Gholam, Associate at Price & Myers, has been part of the PANDA development team from day one. Ben set out the workflow for PANDA ensuring it meets the practical needs of a structural engineer during the early stages of their project. Ben is an expert user of PANDA, he creates tutorial content and tests our Beta versions before they are launched to the customer.
